Confessions from a crazy, hormonal pregnant lady

I really hate being pregnant. I think I would rather break my arm. Yes, it's amazing to feel the baby's movements, which I think I've already felt, and I love the end result: a cute little, cuddly bunch of love baby. But here are the things that drive me crazy about being pregnant:
1- I HATE having a belly. Even though pregnancy clothes are way cute, I think I'd rather forego the belly and get cute regular clothes.
2-I restricts my exercise. I am overly cautious when I'm pregnant so I won't even go running because of the jiggly movement.
3- I have to eat healthy. Anyone who's had 2 kids though-- here's my question, were you so much more relaxed with health your second around? With Ethan, I forced veggies down my throat suppressing the gag reflex that was almost always there. With this one, I don't junk out, but I definetly don't force veggies down my throat. My attitude is that the multivitamin will take care of it. Horrible huh?
You're probably thinking I am a horrible person... but I love this sweet little baby already, I just don't like the process of growing the child.
(I very hesitantly put this picture on... it's probably the only one you'll get)

Also, we just got back from our 18 week checkup. The doctor did an ultrasound just to play around to see if she could see the sex. Supposedly when it's a girl you can see 3 small white marks somewhere on the tummy I think. We all saw that and no male protrusion, we're thinking we have our sweet little Eliza baby (isn't that a cute name?). Mark says he's 99% sure it's a girl and I sure hope it is too but I am determined not to get my hopes up. I'm afraid they might get dashed later. Anyways, we have another ultrasound in 2 weeks just to make sure but I probably will hold off on making ourselves bankrupt by buying girl's clothes until then. So watch out bank account-- in 2 weeks, here I come!!! We sure do want our sweet Eliza girl! (But we will be happy with a boy too)

Getting your hopes DASHED? Leah Catherine, I cannot believe it would be that dreadful for you to have a boy. After living with your darling Ethan, how could you possibly feel that way about another baby boy?? But if it is a girl, which it sounds like it is, Eliza is such a cute name! Ethan and Eliza. CUTE!

BUT on to the rest of the post... you look SO cute pregnant!! You are tiny!! I love the picture, and I think you should post more of them. But I feel THE SAME WAY. I do not like being pregnant. I am always envious of those people who love it. I am like you-- I would WAY rather buy cute regular clothes than cute maternity clothes, although I think OTHER people look so cute in them!

And as for eating healthy, I am normally a really healthy eater, but I am so sick during pregnancy that I take whatever I can get. Seriously. I throw up every single salad I eat when I am pregnant. But that's not a surprise, since I throw up EVERYTHING I eat, period, for about 7 months. It's wretched. I too hope the multivitamin covers a lot... but that doesn't stay down very well either. Who knows.

You are doing great, though, and I'm so excited to meet this new baby! You are going to LOVE having two kids. Seriously. It's the best thing ever.

You look so good! Yea for girls and cute name. I am holding off on bankrupting us till I can save a bit more. Also, I am waiting to know if she is blonde or brown haired, lame I know but that will change things color wise. I mostly enjoy being preggy. I have noticed myself lapse on a few things, but sometimes the time is not there or the energy. I figure as long as I exercise every day and mostly eat healthy, I'm good. Ditto on the vitamin. Anyway, you are a cute preggy! and congrats on the 99% girl!

Leah, you look great! I really can't remember what it's like being pregnant... i was one of the lucky few who didn't ever get sick... well i got dehydrated once... but throwing up , not at all... and about eating...i think i ate anything and everything... one time i was on a wendy's kick and thats al i would eat.. everyday... seriously... and kate turned out fine, so i wouldn't be too concerned with that.

You look awesome! Eliza is a very cute name! We almost used that for a middle name on Maelie or Kyla because Jonas and I met at the Eliza R. Snow bldg, hehe! I also don't like being pregnant, ugh! And I actually hate veggies when I'm pregnant - it is so hard, I do try to eat them but I'd rather just eat meat and bread, haha! And icecream and chocolate of course! I don't think you're horrible at all!!! You are an awesome amazing person and mother! Love ya and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy - almost 1/2 way! YEAH!!!

Leah, I loved the post! I am totally on your side, pregnancy is not all that its cracked up to be, the end result definitely makes it all worth while but I would totally skip it if i could! Thats funny what mary said, I know you want a girl, but whenever I look at Marys blog, having 2 boys seems like so much fun! But I kinda know what you mean, of course you'd be happy with either, but you have your preference :) and also, you look great! awesome for you with trying to be healthy and all, I was like mary too in that i would eat whatever stayed down, pretty amazing how things work out though, but again I loved the post, we'll be waiting to see what you are going to have! Yay!

Congrats on the new baby. After having two boys and a girl in less then 4 years, whatever you eat the baby will get the nourishment he/she needs to grow healthy and strong. Eliza is a very pretty name. How was it choosen? Does it have a family meaning? I read that you love chocolate and cheesecake. Try this recipe. You have a very nice looking family.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cheesecake
Ingredients:
· CHOCOLATE COOKIE CRUST(recipe follows)
· 3 packages (8 oz. each) cream cheese, softened
· 1 cup sugar
· 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
· 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
· 1 cup canned pumpkin *
· 4 eggs
· 1-1/2 cups HERSHEY'S Mini Chips Semi-Sweet Chocolate
· CHOCOLATE LEAVES(recipe follows, optional)
Directions:
1. Prepare CHOCOLATE COOKIE CRUST. Increase oven temperature to 400°F.
2. Beat cream cheese, sugar, flour and pumpkin pie spice in large bowl until well blended. Add pumpkin and eggs; beat until well blended. Stir in small chocolate chips; pour batter into prepared crust. Bake 10 minutes.

3. Reduce oven temperature to 250°F; continue baking 60 minutes or until almost set. Remove from oven to wire rack. With knife, loosen cake from side of pan. Cool completely; remove side of pan. Refrigerate about 5 hours before serving. Prepare and garnish with CHOCOLATE LEAVES, if desired. Cover; refrigerate leftover cheesecake. 10 to 12 servings.

CHOCOLATE COOKIE CRUST: Heat oven to 350°F. Stir together 1 cup vanilla wafer crumbs (about 30 wafers), 1/4 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa, 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter or margarine in medium bowl. Press mixture firmly onto bottom and 1/2-inch up side of 9-inch springform pan. Bake 8 minutes; cool slightly.

CHOCOLATE LEAVES: Thoroughly wash and dry several non-toxic leaves. Place 1/2 cup HERSHEY'S Mini Chips Semi-Sweet Chocolate in small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at MEDIUM (50%) 30 to 45 seconds or until smooth when stirred. With small, soft-bristled pastry brush, brush melted chocolate on backs of leaves. (Avoid getting chocolate on leaf front; removal may be difficult when chocolate hardens.) Place on wax paper-covered cookie sheet; refrigerate until very firm. Beginning at stem, carefully pull green leaves from chocolate leaves; refrigerate until ready to use.

* I’ve found that just one cup of pumpkin makes this extremely rich. I’ve since taken to putting one whole 15oz canned pumpkin in giving it more pumpkin flavor and less richness.

I totally hear you on hating being pregnant. I counted down the months, days, & hours until I had Madisyn and I could get back in to regular clothes! I just hated having a huge belly. But that's all normal of course. Just cause you love the outcome doesn't mean you have to like the process! Anyway. You do look really cute pregnant though, which should at least make it a little better. :-) I'd say I wasn't more relaxed with what I ate w/ Madisyn because I realized how scary it was when Parker came close to not making it. But at the same time I wasn't really more worried either because it's kind of out of our hands. So you just do the best you can. But I wouldn't go so far as making yourself gag down everything green. :-) You're lucky you haven't gotten sick. I really hope you have a girl, just cause it's fun having one of each. Then you don't have to worry about what you have next!

Yes, have a girl! Ethan will be a good big, protective brother. I don't like being prego either. Looking back it was worse than I let on. You do look cute Leah. You at least need to post a pic right at the end when you're huge. Good luck!
