Mark's kayak

Here's Mark's kayak! Isn't it gorgeous?! This is the inside of it.
Here's the knife that did most of the work on the boat. Mark thinks this knife is the greatest. He's going to make a little pocket thing in the boat for it since it did so much work on the boat.
Here's a full shot. He had to cut super skinny pieces of wood and glue them all together to form this. It has taken a LONG time, but it's well worth it. He doesn't have too much left on it!
He made a cockpit thing in the front for storage and then one in the back for Ethan to sit in. I'm not so sure about that though since Ethan can't stay still for 2 seconds. That might be kinda dangerous.

Okay, okay, I'll admit... your kayak really is cool looking. :P How much longer till it's done?

I hope the kayak will be done in a month or two, at least before the one year mark of working on it.

Leah, this is the most amazing thing. Dave was telilng me about it because he was so impressed. Did Mark have any kind of pattern? I can't believe someone could make something so perfect-looking off of the top of his head. It really looks professional and I can't believe he's been doing it with a pocket knife. It's beautiful. He's going to put some sort of plastic coating on it, right? It's amazing. Tell Mark we are SO impressed.

Hey! No, actually he had a pattern. He bought one online and followed the steps. And he didn't do completely everything with the knife... he has a sander and stuff. He just shaped the strips of wood with the knife. And yes, he'll put a fiberglass coating on it pretty soon then it will look gorgeous! I can't believe he actually did it though, what an accomplishment huh?! He says he wants to build more!
