Yuck, yuck

So we had a very eventful trip traveling to West Virginia for Christmas. First, we flew to Chicago which was great. Once we got to Chicago, our plane was delayed because of mechanical issues. Then it was delayed because of weather and delayed again because of weather, and delayed again because of weather, etc... We got into the airport at about 2:00 Monday afternoon, waited all day, waited all night, then Mark argued with the airport people and got us a hotel room and food vouchers. We called all the rental car companies and nothing was available... we felt very stranded and felt like we were going to spend Christmas in an airport. The next morning, we waited and waited. Just as we were about to give up and were about to fly back home to Denver, we got a flight to Charleston at midnight. We ended up waiting almost a full day in the Chicago airport for our plane. Luckily, the airport had a mini children's museum with a fun airplane and helicopter for Ethan to play in. If we hadn't found that, I think we would have all gone insane by now. The kids were absolutely perfect and we're glad to finally be here!

In the chaos of things, we misplaced our camera but found it after all the excitement was over and family was gone. Bummer. I'm here in WV for another month to hang out with mom, my sister, and our wonderful amazing friends. Pictures will come later...

Merry Christmas!

Wow Leah, that really stinks!! I'm glad you finally made it though, even if it took such a miserable trip to get there. Hope you had a good Christmas after all of that!

Lesson learned. NEVER EVER fly through Chicago in the winter time. You'll be delayed EVERY time.
