Ethan graduated from joy school! I am already having my withdrawls from having that break 2 times a week. We have been so so very desperate for a pool. Ours opens in a week... we have been counting the days for about a month now. So we finally pulled out our under the bed storage and filled it with water. Quick easy pool. The kids loved it.
Look at those splashes!
Went hiking. We were so proud of Ethan! This was a 1.5 mile hike up to this fire tower and he hiked all of it himself! Going back to the car was a different story... Ethan was in the backpack which he is way too big for and I was carrying sleeping Eliza in my arms. Needless to say, after that trip, Mark's back was aching as were my arms. The view was worth it though. We could see hundreds of miles on all four sides of the fire tower.
Now you've won half the battle. If you have to pick uphill or downhill to carry the kids, the downhill should definitely be the right choice. The view must have been magnificent. Wish I could have been with you! Love, Mom
Wow - what a bunch of fun things on your blog! Ethan and Eliza look great! I love the sleepover night idea :) Sounds like it would be crazy fun for the kids but maybe not so much for mom and dad.
10/17/10 Mark came home from a church fireside and Ethan said, "How many fireworks did you see?"
10/1/10 Ethan came home from school and said they made a scarecrow but then said they didn't make it with any "scares" in it.
7/1 Ethan was playing with his good friend Addison outside. Eliza was giving Addison big, cheesy, flirty smiles and, even worse, was blowing kisses at him. I then asked her if she wanted to kiss Addison and she nodded her head yes. Boy crazy already! Ahh!
7/1 Mark was talking about Chris King hubs for your bike which supposedly are the best and, in his words, will outlast the bike rider. Ethan said, "Chris King hubs won't outlast Jesus since Jesus never dies." Smart boy.
12/29 "Eliza thinks Rudolph the Reindeer is HER reindeer." He often comes up with silly things that Eliza "says" like this. He has often told me that Eliza thinks she's a mommy and always is telling him what to do.
12/15 Mark said he would take Ethan on splits with the missionaries if Ethan ate all of his dinner. Ethan said, "Great! But I don't like it (dinner, that is)." He said this about 3:00 before I even started thinking about what we would have for dinner.
12/14 Ethan likes to get into Eliza's crib and play quite often when they're supposed to be sleeping. One night we went to check on them at 10:30 PM (!!) and they were still awake, playing. He excitedly exclaimed to Eliza as we walked in, "It's a miracle we're still awake!!" And then proceeded to ask us, "Is it morning time?"
12/13 Ethan asked me if he could draw all over his body. I cautioned him against it, saying that his body was a temple and that we wouldn't be drawing on the walls of the temple. I wanted him to make his own choice... he thought about it for a while and then asked, "Well then, can I draw a temple on my body?" Smart boy.
