Lazy blogging days

No more drive to blog about our lives... too busy making many many cute projects which I'll have to post later. Anyways, here's a short summary of our lives lately.

So I finally got the book Sneaky Chef on paperbackswap.com (definetly go check it out if you haven't already- one of my fav sites!) and have been going crazy making sneaky meals. The pic above is when the kids got ice cream and cookies for breakfast. The ice cream had avocados in it- Ethan wasn't so sure about it until I topped it with sprinkles. The cookies have ricotta cheese, whole wheat flour, wheat germ... they're actually really good. They go really fast in our house.
This was a really interesting night. Ethan has been in to teenage mutant ninja turtles lately so asked Mark to make a turtle shell out of a wipes box. It looked really goofy. He then wanted a helmet which looked even more akward and hard to breathe and move around in. Of course, he had to top it off with arm and leg protector things. Ethan could hardly move but he absolutely loved it and spent the rest of the night ninja fighting.

This was a really special day. This last year we haven't spent a whole lot of money on fun family day trips as some of you know... anyways, this was special because we splurged and went to the zoo on a gorgeous, perfect day. It was a perfect afternoon as a family... we were there for about 4 hours. This was at the end of our day... Ethan wanted to feed some humongous fish in this small lake which we did. An even bigger pelican came over when he realized all the fish were hanging around us for food. The pelican was right on the other side of the fence, close enough to touch. So it kept dunking its head in the water, trying to catch some of these huge fish for dinner. We kept feeding the fish so the pelican would stay around but it never caught one. It gave up and tried to eat Eliza's shoe. Seriously, the pelican reached its beak right through the fence and tried to bite Eliza's shoe. Eliza didn't like that so much.
The otters put on a little swimming show for us. They came right next to the glass and swam around the kids. They absolutely loved it!

So a few months back we started a new foods chart with Ethan, desperate to get him to eat more since most nights he doesn't eat a bite of dinner. So every time he tries a new bite of food, he can mark off one spot on his new food chart. There are 15 spots and when he fills up all 15, he gets a treat or special trip of his choice. We went to Incredible Pizza and they had a blast. He's now slowly working through his second food chart.

Eliza loves to dress herself lately. This is one of her crazy dressing herself days.
